MULTIPLICATION IN EDEN, SERPENT SEED, ETERNAL PUNISHMENT
Questions Nos. 627 to 633

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

Question # 627: "I have a question I will like to ask. How was Adam and Eve supposed to multiply if the intercourse they had brought death?"

E.O.D.H. Answer: From Brother Branham's quotation, they were to be created from the dust, and there is only one original way and that is by the spoken word, Genesis 1:26-27. If you notice, the born again experience is by the spoken word, John 3, James 1:17, John 6:6-3. The quotation below, and statement, were employed in our Exposition Book 8 to defeat Richard Gan/Ganism who propagates the heresy that sex was the original plan of God for human reproduction.
If sex was the right way, then why did Christ come by the virgin birth? Brother Branham said:
Quote W.M.B.: "Just like in the beginning, it was not God's perfect will for children to be born on the earth through sex. No, sir. God created man out of the dust of the earth. That was God's first and original will. But when sin come in, then He permitted man to marry a wife legally and have children by her…But, you see, it never was His perfect will. Therefore, all these things that had a beginning has to have an end. All sin has to come to annihilation. All sin has to be done away with. Therefore, in the great millennium when the resurrection comes, we will not have to be reborned again by our fathers and mothers, but God like He did in the beginning will call man from the dust of the earth and his helpmate with him. That's right. That's the way He did it at the beginning. So therefore, God never changes His mind about anything, but He will permit you to go on." (Does God change his mind 18/4/65).

Quote: 49 "…in the beginning, that His perfect will was to create man out of the dust of the earth. But, you see, He permitted sex to be brought in. He never did intend children to be born by sex, but it was permitted, which soon will fade away." (Does God change his mind 65-0427).

Question # 628: "How did the Serpent Seed came after the Flood? Can you send me a reply to this in detail, with Bible quotes and Message of the hour quotes? Some say it is Spread through Ham, Noah's son, and by Noah's second wife Namah (Who was the serpent seed) due to some illegal contact, of which Canaan was born, so he is a serpent seed; but my question is, How can a seed come from a female, (Namah), as seed comes through man? Some say that he can be called a spiritual serpent seed, and not a literal serpent seed."

E.O.D.H. Answer: On your question as above, Brother Branham did not treat it as a subject, but gave a few indications of how that seed crossed over the flood, and said it came over the way it did in the Garden of Eden. That is as much Brother Branham said on the subject. The indications seem to be adultery, as it was adultery in the Garden of Eden.
Whoever ventures to give other interpretations and has a lot to say about the subject is only presumptuous. Richard Gan teaches some heresies on the serpent seed. He thinks that his ministry is an extension of Brother Branham's. He changes many major doctrines of the Bible and the Message, and even said that the serpent was Adam's servant, and much more nonsense. Brother Branham's statements are as follows:

Quote W.M.B.: 27-3 "Now, Noah and his sons which come out, Ham, Shem, and Japheth, come out in the righteous line. How did the seed ever get over? The seed come over in the ark, just like it did in the beginning through the woman, their wives. They carried the seed of Satan through the ark, just as Eve packed the seed of Satan to give birth to Cain, through the woman. You put them women in your platforms for preachers, the Bible condemning it. Paul said, "If any man thinks himself to be a prophet or even spiritual, let him acknowledge that what I write is the commandments of the Lord; but if he be ignorant, just let him be ignorant." (Serpent's Seed 58-0928e).

Question # 629: "Dear Brother, I understand what you are saying, and have always suspected that the fruit is adultery (in Eden). The problem is, is Judas Iscariot a spiritual seed of the serpent in his lineage? He could not have been a direct descendant of Cain, because they were all drowned in the flood."

E.O.D.H. Answer: Precious One, in your declaration about Judas, have you considered Goliath and all the other giants, and the sons of Anak, many years after the flood? Were they literal seeds of the serpent? And those that Jesus met in clergy cloth and said to them 'ye serpents'?

Question #630 : "Can a believer be possessed by a contrary spirit?"

E.O.D.H. Answer: Yes, the wrong spirit do get upon believers and inspire them to say and do wrong, and in certain cases, possesses them, even to the stage of insanity.
Quote W.M.B.: 17 "Now, there is demons that comes into the soul of men, and that is, in the phraseology, that would be--that would be in the... the demon that comes into the soul is something that torments the soul. Many times you can see a person maybe of insanity. Now, they may be yet a converted person, filled with the Holy Spirit, and yet be totally insane. See? That's right; that has nothing to do with the soul. It's a tormentor (See?), something that torments them." (Demonology 53-0608A).
"But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men." (Matthew 16:23).
"But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men." (Mark 8:33).
"And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve" (Luke 4:8).
Every wrong decision you make you are deceived by your own spirit. You could be a believer; you could be born again like Peter and be anointed of the Devil. The Lord had to rebuke him. Samson and David, two gallant men, could not control their own spirits. They had an anointing of the flesh but not in their souls. They never had the new birth. The new birth changes the nature/desires of a man. Without the new birth, the Spirit of God, a man is like a beast.

Question #631 : "How can we identify a serpent seed? "

E.O.D.H. Answer:
"Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." (Matthew 7:13).

Quote W.M.B.: "Cain come and offered a sacrifice… Not only that, but…He was trying to find reconciliation. And Cain knelt down humbly, raised up his hands and worshipped the Lord. He was not a communist; neither was he an infidel. He was a believer. But he didn't have the spiritual revelation" (Fellowship Through Reconciliation 55-0605 P:35).

Quote: "Cain and Abel, both of them worshipped in the beginning. Cain built an altar, so did Abel. Cain worshipped, so did Abel. Cain wasn't an infidel. They built an altar. They brought a sacrifice; they done everything that they could do, both of them." (Results Of Decision 55-1008 P:61).

Quote: "Cain was such a person, religious in deed, certainly. But he had the wrong seed in him …Cain, knew the perfect will of God…But he refused to do it; he proved then to be the serpent's seed. When he seen the perfect will of God, he refused it. He had seen God vindicate Abel's message. He knowed that was the will of God…but he didn't want it. See? He wanted to add something to it." (Power Of Transformation 65-1031M P:102).

Quote: "But Cain's children was always smart, high, science, doctors, and great men. That's right. The Bible said so, you know… And very religious, but perished at the end." (Why Against Organized Religion 62-1111E P: 51).

Quote: "Judas only played church. He wasn't really sincere; he didn't actually have faith: he'd have never betrayed Jesus. But you see, he sowed that seed of discrepancy… He never had no real, real faith. He had what he thought was a faith" (Seed Of Discrepancy 65-0118 P: 18).

One cannot tell who is a serpent seed or who is not a serpent seed until certain definite characteristics are manifested. If when a person has blasphemed his way and manifests the characteristics of a serpent seed, such a person is a seed of the serpent. A person is known by his works or the fruits that he bears. His characteristics will show him up for what he is.
Look at Cain, a serpent seed, a tare; a child of the wicked one. In Genesis 4 Cain was wroth with God. He argued with God and said, "Am I my brother's keeper." Cain was jealous though he was religious. He was unredeemable, rebellious, hateful, unrepentant, proud and murderous. His purpose was to kill Abel, the elect, who had a revelation of who Cain's father was. He failed to listen to the truth when Abel told him. Cain did not recognise the revelation of his day. When you hear the revelation, the truth, the Word for your day and you reject it, and you display the characteristics of Cain, it shows that you can be a serpent seed.

"I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear [them] not, because ye are not of God." (John 8: 37-45).

Quote W.M.B.: 132-1 "Those who fight the humble of God and scoff and destroy--let them do it. And do it they will. And all in the Name of God and religion. But they lie. They are not of God. They are of their father, the devil. They, by their deeds against ANY people, expose themselves for what they are. Let them organize and repudiate the little flock. They but further reveal to all that they are of the devil. They are the false vine--the vine that murders. Their hatred proves who they are. The Nicolaitane antichrist church is who they are." (Smyrnaean Church Age - Church Age Book Cpt.4).

We can see another example called Esau, who was born in a prophet's home. God hated Esau who was profane, a fornicator, and who sold his birthright for a fleshly appetite. He valued his fleshly appetite more than the birthright. The birthright today is another outpouring of the Holy Ghost.
Then Judas heard truth but he could not recognise who Jesus was; he did not hear Jesus' voice. He could not abide in the truth of the hour. Let us look at his characteristics. He was the son of perdition, a direct seed of the serpent. He is the one who betrayed Jesus for money. He was hateful, envious, jealous, and murderous. He loved money; he was a thief. Any person who cannot abide in the truth after it is declared unto him and bears these corrupt fruits, shows a bad sign of being a serpent seed.

Question # 632: "Will children who die in their infant age be saved, irrespective of Cain's seed?"

E.O.D.H. Answer:
Quote W.M.B.: 434-106 "But now, let us say like this. We know that babies that die, regardless of their parent, they are saved. Now, I disagree with the school of prophets on that. They said if it was--died with a parent that was sinful, that that baby would go to hell, rot away; there'd be no more to it. Well, Jesus... John said when Jesus come, "Behold the Lamb of God that take away the sin of the world." And if that baby was a human being, which would have to come under the judgments of God, and Jesus died to take away the sin, all sin was expelled before God when Jesus died for that purpose. Your sins were forgiven. My sins were forgiven. And the only way that you can ever be forgiven is to accept His pardon. Now, the baby cannot accept its pardon, so it hasn't done nothing. It hasn't done nothing at all. So it is absolutely freely to go to heaven." (Qa. On The Holy Ghost 59-1219).

Question # 633: "According to Mark 3:15 and Mark 9:43-44, does it mean that the sinful will be punished eternally?"

E.O.D.H. Answer:
"And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. (Mark 9: 43-44).

Quote W.M.B.: 341-302 "We found out that the word "forever" means "a space of time."…And forever is witnessed many times in the Bible as a space of time. But eternity... And there's only one type of Eternal Life, we found. Is that right? God has that Eternal Life alone. Is that right? Only one type of Eternal Life... There is no such a word as "eternal punishment," 'cause if you're to be punished for eternity, you've got to have Eternal Life to be punished eternally;…And if you got Eternal Life, you can't be punished. See?... "He that heareth My Words, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath Everlasting Life." Is that right? Eternal Life, because you believe…So then, if you're going to suffer in hell forever and forever, you got to have Eternal Life." (Hebrews Chapter 7 Pt.2 Church Order 57-0922).

Quote: 214-30 "See the difference? The wicked has everlasting punishment, but "everlasting" is "a space of time." Now, if it would've been the same, it would've been written…"They shall go away into eternal punishment, and the other one into Eternal Life." … Now, the Scripture Itself that the dear person answered... Now, the word "a-i-n-i-o-n" means…in the Greek Lexicon, right here, "space of punishment," or, "time of punishment." See? They shall go away into a time of punishment. The word is used, "a-i-n-i-o-n, ainion," which means "times, a time, a limited time." Then take it back into the translation here, the English, "everlasting" is "a limited of time." See? It comes from the Greek, "a limit of time." The word "a-i-n-i-o-n, ainion" means "a limited time of punishment." (Qa. Hebrews Part.1 57-0925).

No, it does not mean eternally, but other Scriptures speak of everlasting fire, which means for a period of time. However, the word eternal and everlasting are used interchangeably, taken from the original translation. The only one that is eternal is God. For the worms not to die will mean that the eternal spirit of God is in the worms, which cannot be, because God will have to be in Hell or the Lake of Fire. Those words are sometimes used figuratively: "dieth not", "fire is not quenched". And we can find such in the Old Testament. They are used to express the degree of punishment.
