PENTECOSTALIS= M - 100 YEARS

THE GREATEST = LIE OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY

CHAPTER   3

<And when the day of Pentecost was fully = come, they were all with one accord in one place.

&nb= sp; And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty w= ind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. =

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like= as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

And they were all filled with the Ho= ly Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. > (Acts 2:1-11)

<Be glad then, ye children of Zio= n, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderat= ely, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

And the floors shall be full of whe= at, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.

…And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young = men shall see visions:

And also upon the servants and upon = the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

And I will shew wonders in the heave= ns and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.<= /p>

The sun shall be turned into darknes= s, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.> (Joel 2:23-32)

We are thankful for our gathering he= re this morning and we are happy again that we can address God’s people = even in other nations. I will be speaking on the subject: “Pentecostalism - One Hundred Years.” And for a subtitle I want to speak on “The Greatest Lie of the twentieth Century.” <= /span>

We are a people gathered here today who are look= ing for a true Outpouring of the Holy Spirit like the Day of Pentecost. This assembly has been waiting upon that great Promise that God made for better = than forty years. But though the vision linger, it shall surely come to pass.

Habak= kuk 2:3 <For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall sp= eak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it = will not tarry.>

That is the Promise and that is the saying of the prophet in the Old Testament.

CELEBRATION 100TH YEAR OF PENTECOSTALISM - MESSAGE  FOLL= OWERS

Around the world, in this 2006,there are many celebrations. They are celebrating the event of one hundred years of Pentecostalism, which started in 1906. And the celebrations have stretched = far and wide concerning this great event that took place in 1906, which, I beli= eve, was the hand of the Lord in 1906 that sent the showers of blessings to the people of God.  There is somet= hing involved here which I want to bring to your attention and to the attention of the world. =

Followers of the message around the world are= also involved in celebrating this great event of one hundred years of Pentecosta= lism where Pentecost was poured out, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, in 1906.  And we want to take the time to ex= amine this great claim of Pentecost returning in 1906. I want to do this in a Scriptural manner that a fool shall not err therein, that when we have come= to the end there should be no doubts and there should be no fear. Credit must = be given to the people of 1906 all the same, because I believe that it was a g= reat blessing of the Lord.

You might not understand the term, “Pentecostalism,” but there is a great body of people upon the earth right now for one hundred years. Their system has been drawn up. And = we refer to them as Pentecostals.= Now Pentecostals are just not one body of people all united, but I will venture= to say that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of different organizations around the world known by different titles, but they all relate back to 190= 6. They were a hated, despised and rejected people once, but today they are ve= ry popular. Their preachers are, around the world, very well recognized by the governments. They are popular on the television, and whatever media that th= ey use. We have great men. And great men preached and lived for the past one hundred years, so you can imagine the great celebrations that they are havi= ng.

One of our brothers visited a celebr= ation in Germany and he gave= me reports of the great time that they are having; people gathering from all p= arts of Europe to celebrate one hundred years of Pentecostalism. And they believe with all their hearts that it was the return of Pentecost.

Now, why this is so important to us and to the people who follow this message, and I will venture to say, to all religious people, is that there are millions of people today who rely upon this blessing of 1906 to prepare them for the Rapture. And the message believer= s are included, right there. Better than ninety-nine percent of the people that fol= low the message are based upon that experience, that Outpouring of the Baptism = of the Holy Spirit and that revival that broke in 1906. All that they have add= ed to the experience of 1906 is the message of God that was brought to us by t= he Laodicean messenger. That is all that they added; more truths. But the trut= h is that they rely upon that experience of 1906 and they think that they are be= tter off than the Pentecostals because they received a message from God and a prophet of God. And they think that they are all qualified and prepared for= the Rapture and, any time the Rapture can take place.

So I want to examine such claims in the Scripture this morning. We want to continue to examine such claims tomorrow night, Tuesday night, and Wednesday night. This is going to be a great lesson for the church and the ministers,= and it will long live on, and I’m trusting and hoping for great deliverance when these messages g= o out, because it will be irrefutable= . It will be undeniable, except for the unbelief of the people—and unbelief does not hinder God.

Quote W.M.B.: 70 Unbelief doesn't stop God; it doesn't hinder Him. I don't care how much the world unbelieves, It's still going to happen. Unbelief doesn't do nothing but condemns the unbeliever. The unbelief will send the unbeliever to hell. It'= ll rob him of every blessing God promised to him, but it doesn't hinder God fr= om going right on with the believer. See, unbelief doesn't stop God; it only s= tops the unbeliever.  (Proving His Word 64-0816).

The name “Pentecostal” came from the Scripture read in Acts 2. That is why I read that Scripture. Because in 1906 the people believed that shower of blessing that came upon them was actuall= y a return of Pentecost, that the same thing that took place on the day of Pentecost took place in 1906. As a result of that, the name was given to th= at system and I would say “organization” because they organized so= on after and entitled that body of people, “Pentecostals.”

I will have the world to know that m= any of us here were attached to those people and that system. We were former Pentecostals and we are thankful to the Lord that they preached Jesus Chris= t to us. And there were many good things about them. I myself, together with many that are seated here have that experience and personal history. Speaking for myself, I have about forty years of personal history and witnessed Pentecostalism for myself and traced that right down from the nineteen sixt= ies until the present time. We have people seated here that went way back, more than forty years, and have a personal history of fifty, sixty or seventy ye= ars, such men that know the history of Pentecost.

So we are speaking today from person= al experience, I am speaking from recorded history and, above all from the wri= tten Word of God and the message of the hour to confirm the written Word of God since this subject is linked to Acts 2. “Pentecostalism One Hundred Y= ears, The Greatest Lie of the twentieth Century.” Now I may not be able to = do justice to my subtitle so I will drop off something here to prove that it is Scriptural.

“RETURN OF PENTECOST IN 1906”, THE GREATEST LIE

One of the greatest event that will ever take place in this twenty-first century and in human history is another Outpouring of the Holy Spirit for t= he end-time Church, like the Day of Pentecost. “Why do you say that preacher?” Even because the = rapture is dependent upon this Outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Another revival coming to the end-time Ch= urch is dependent upon another Outpouring of the Spirit. The translation and rapture of the Church is dependent upon this Outpouring of the Holy Spirit. And the = dead that died in Christ since th= e time of our Lord Jesus are dependent upon this great Outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Since this Outpouring of the Holy Sp= irit is one of the greatest events that will ever take place in human history, to make a claim that that Power did return to the Church in 1906, is the great= est lie that was ever told in the twentieth century. Any time that you tell suc= h a lie about the greatest event for the Church of God, you are try= ing to take away the greatest Promise= that God ever made to the end time Church. So it is the greatest lie that was ev= er told in the twentieth century.

Now, think of how many lies were tol= d in the twentieth century—religious lies, political lies and lies of mank= ind. Can you estimate it? Mountains of lies; oceans of lies. I do not think that= , if you would empty the waters from the sea, that there would be space enough f= or the lies of man that he told just for the twentieth century. We were born liars. But thank God for Jesus Christ, that we can serve Him today in Spirit and truth. Think of the lies. Men lie from morning to night. And they even = lie in their dreams. Such is the human nature. But I am saying that out of all = the oceans of lies that were told in the twentieth century, this is the greatest lie: that Pentecost had indeed returned in 1906, and by the Grace of God, I= can prove that in the Scriptures.

All right! Since this was adopted fr= om Acts 2 and they claim that it was a repeat of Pentecost, I go back to Acts = 2. Now here today we have thousands of organizations and millions of churches,= all in the Name of Jesus Christ. But, according to Scripture, Mathew 16:18, Jes= us only spoke about one Church, a singular Church.

Matthew 16:18 <…= ;upon this rock I will build my church…> (Singular!)

Even in the days of our Lord Jesus, = the Church was not yet built, but He was speaking about building a Church in the future—one single Church. And that is what we believe that we are in = the making today. That is why we are not an organization; we are not a denomina= tion and we are not a religion. We believe that we will be part of this Church of Jesus Christ. And this Church in Acts 2 was inaugurated on the day of Pentecost. The prophecy that our Lord made in Mathew 16:18 about building a Church, a singular Church, happened on the day of Pentecost. And how did th= at happen? It happened by an Outpouri= ng of the Spirit that came in such a measure that it put the believers into the mystical Body of our Lord Jesus Christ. Not the body, the human body called Jesus Christ, but the mystical Body. It immersed them into a certain realm, which is called the Kingd= om of God. And then by= that Outpouring of the Holy Spirit putting the souls of the believers into that mystical realm of the Spirit, they became the Church of God. And there was no need for a roll book. There was no need for a name on their church building, because it was the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ. One Church.

Then that one Church, according to Ephesians 4, had one Lord—not three gods, one faith, and one baptism.=

Ephesians 4:5 <One Lord, one faith, one baptism…>

That is how the early Church functio= ned. They were a united people. According to Acts, they were in one heart, and o= ne accord.

Acts 2:46 <And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and brea= king bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness = of heart.>

They were a united bunch of people, = and they had one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. Then they had one Bible. But today we have many faiths. You ask, “What faith do you belong to?R= 21; There is only one. And if you do not belong to that one faith you are outsi= de of Christ. There is only one faith. And that faith is recorded in the Bible: baptism in Jesus Christ’s Name, Acts 2:38. One God, God is a Spirit, St. John 4:24. And many other Scriptures bear these things out.

What we are trying to do is to belon= g to that one Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, the mystical Body.  There is a way to do it and that is according to I Corinthians 12:13.

<For by one Spirit are we all bap= tized into one body...>

That Body is the Church; that Body i= s the Kingdom of God; that Body is the mystical Bod= y of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We bel= ieve that we are part of that Church.

All right! After that Church was set= up on the day of Pentecost, there was unity amongst the believers.

Acts 5: 13 <And of the rest durst no man join himself to them…>

No man durst join himself to that Ch= urch. We had gifted men—apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, and pastors—that pastored that Church. And it went on for centuries until= the first organization was formed. The first organization that was formed was a= t Nicaea, Rome in 325 A.D. Before that time according to Galatians 1:6-9, the apostle Paul prophesied.

Galatians 1:7-8 <Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and wou= ld pervert the gospel of Christ.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than t= hat which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. >

CHURCH DESTROYED a= t Nicaea = Rome 325 AD – REFORMATION

So now perversion stepped into the Go= spel, right in the days of the early Church and the days of Brother Paul. And when the Gospel was perverted, they changed everything. All the different doctri= nes were changed. And I want to announce to you here that this great Power that came on the day of Pentecost could not work with the Church any longer. So they lost the gifts of the Spirit. The= y lost the Power of God among them. They lost that holy life that they were living= and sin entered the Church until in 325 A.D. at Nicaea Rome according to histor= y; they called a world council of churches. And “Constantine the Great,” they called him, painted a cross on his soldiers’ shiel= ds. He went to fight war and he won the war. He himself got baptized and his soldiers got baptized. And then they brought in all these Roman people that were former pagans and worshipers of idols and they hybreeded Christianity with their pagan relig= ion.

At Nicaea, Rome, they voted out the true Church of God and they set up the first organization. (Now, if you are a Catholic here, we have nothing against Catholic people. We are talking about the system.) They formed the first organization, which was named, “The Roman Catholic Church”, even because they hybridized the Roman religion with Christianity. Roman Catholic Church. In other words, they made one universal church in 325 A.D. “Catholic” means “universal.” The true Church was voted out. And then, a little while after that, they set a = holy man, called the Pope, over that church. He still reigns up to today. And th= ey gave him a triple crown, and on that crown is the mark of the beast. Vicari= us Filii Dei. In Roman numerals, if you check that out, it is 666, the mark of= the beast. It has traveled down to our age.&nb= sp;

Now I am just giving you a little background and a brief history. Now, on account of Ni= caea, the Church of God plunged into what history call= ed, “the Dark Ages.” In the Dark Ages, the law was, “Be a Catholic or die.” Sixty-eight million martyrs were put to death as recorded on the Roman martyrology. Thos= e were people who believed in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, water baptism in Jesus Christ’s Name, and all the fundamental doctrines that you and I now believe. And then out of a thousand years of Dark Ages, we had what you cal= l a reformation.

Reformation period – article of Pentecost missing

All right! Let us look at the word “reformation.” It means to reform. Now the only reason that you will want to reform something is because it was destroyed, and you are tryi= ng to bring it back to its original state or condition. So there started a reformation. Luther came out of the Catholic Church. He was a monk, a priest, and he found a Bible in the dunge= ons or the secret places of the Pope. He brought that out and then he started a reformation in his time and started to reform the church toward Pentecost—toward the original. So he brought to the public that you do not have to confess to the priest. You do not have to find any “holy = father” to forgive you for your sins. You can go directly to the Lord Jesus Christ, confess your sins and be forgiven.

So now Martin Luther came with the m= essage of “Justification by faith,” and it caused a world revival, eve= n without power, signs, and wonders= . And they were called “Protestants.” The reason that they were called “Protestants” is that they protested the greatest church upon earth, called the

Universal<= /st1:PlaceName> Church<= /st1:PlaceType>. And they were tagged “Protestants.”

Now, I want you to understand that th= at great Article that came on the day of Pentecost was not amongst the people in the Dark Ages.  That is proven in chapter 6 of the= book of Revelation. They had just a little anointing and they had just a little = bit of the Word insomuch that the Lamb, Jesus Christ, had to cry out and say, <= o:p>

Revelation 6:6 <…hurt not the oil and the wine. >

If the Lord had not intervened in t= he Dark Ages, every speck of the Holy Spirit would have left the church, and e= very speck of the Word would have been lost from the Church of God. But they survived with a little anointing of the Spirit and a little bit of the Word of God.

Quote W.M.B.: 216-2 All through the Dark Ages she = has dominated. For over nine hundred years she plundered and destroyed. She kil= led the arts, destroyed the sciences, produced nothing but death until the ligh= t of the Truth was almost entirely gone and only the barest sliver of light remained. The oil and the wine had almost ceased to flow. (Thyatirean Church Age - Church Age Book Cpt.6).<= /o:p>

Quote: 170-3 If the church, way back there in that third age had only held on to the revelation of the living Word in their midst, the power of G= od would not have faded as it did in those Dark Ages. (Pergamean Church Age -  Church Age Book Cpt.5).=

Now when Martin Luther came (I want = to stress right here), although he had a great revival that struck the world o= ut of Germany, there was no Outpourin= g of the Holy Spirit like the day of Pentecost, neither in Germany nor with Martin Luther. It was still on its way to come. I hope you catch the trend = of my thinking now. But that revival of Martin Luther shook the world without power, signs, and wonders. The reason that the power, signs, and wonders we= re lacking is that what they had on = the day of Pentecost had not returned<= /b>. Jesus said,

Acts 1:8 <But ye shall receive po= wer, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto = me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and = in Samaria, and unto = the uttermost part of the earth. >

MISSED BAPTISM

Quote W.M.B.: 257-3 I = wish it could be said that the Sardisean Age was a restoration instead of a reformation. I cannot say that. The Word does not call it a restoration, but certainly calls it a reformation. Had it been a restoration, that age would have been another Pentecostal age. But it was not. The best that could be s= aid of it was, "Strengthen that which remains, that is ready to die." There was something missing. M= y, yes, there certainly was. This age had justification, but it had missed sanctification and the Baptism wit= h the Holy Ghost The same Spirit that was in Jesus while He was here on earth, causing Him to do the mighty works which He did came back upon the church at Pentecost so that they did the works that He did. This age did not have those works. (Sardisean Church Age - Church= Age Book Cpt.7).

HOLY GHOST BOUND IN THE CHURC= H AGES FOR 2000 YEARS

Quote: 29-6 …that church has bou= nd the Holy Ghost for nearly two thousand years, under martyrdom back there and under the church ages. It's been bound, not at the river Euphrates, but at the door of creeds and dogmas, that the Holy Spirit ca= n't work in the church because of manmade systems. But She's going to be libera= ted. (Feast Of The Trumpets 64-0719m= ).

So now that was one of the proofs th= at whatever they had on the day of Pentecost did not come back with Martin Lut= her. Luther went on and when he died they formed an organization.

A little after there arose another m= an in England by the name of John Wesley. John Wesley did a little better than Luther and said that you must live a sanctified life. God anointed John Wesley. He gave him a great ministry, even with some signs and wonders. But I stress again here, that in the days of John Wesley, Pentecost had not returned. The great Outpouring of the Holy Spirit had not y= et come although a Restoration wa= s promised in the book of Joel. The Restoration of Power where God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, had= not returned. So now the Church was still reforming.

Here is a building. It got broken do= wn and you are cleaning up the spot, trying to establish a foundation. You are gathering lumber; you are gathering bricks; you are reforming. But the buil= ding is not yet restored. And here you lay a little foundation and put up a few bricks but the building is not restored. And then another builder passes by= and he puts up some walls and fixes certain things in there, but the building is not yet restored. So we call that reformation. When the building gets the capstone and everything is fixed,= and the paint goes on the walls and all those other things, then the building is fully restored. Everybody is going to know that this is the building that represents the building that was demolished—by a storm, by a hurrican= e or by an earthquake. They will realize that this building is restored. It looks just like that one that the earthquake pushed down.

Now, based on the prophecy of Joel 2:23-26, grea= t men out of the Lutherans and the Methodists knew that that Scripture existed th= ere. They knew that there was a Promise of Restoration. As certainly, as you and= I today are familiar with these Scriptures that there will be a Restoration o= f a Church like the day of Pentecost, there were men that read those same Scriptures. So these men reading those great Scriptures in that time were Methodists—desperate men—and they longed for this Restoration. = And they knew that Restoration has= to do with another return of Pentecost. Because when Restoration is spoken of in the book of Joel, chapter 2, verse= s 23 right down to 26, it comes right down and start talking about “I will pour out my Spirit.” Spiritual men in the Methodist church had two gr= eat things in mind; the pouring out of the latter rain, and they knew very well that that is translated to mean the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. So now t= his is what is going to bring in, Pentecostalism of 1906.

We have established here that reformation is not Restoration. Reformation is different from Restoration. Restoration is the complete thing. So here we h= ad great men. And I am going to tell you about some of them. And I will let you into the facts of the fathers of Pentecostalism. Not “fathers of Pentecost,” but “fathers of Pentecostalism.” I am going to compare in a little while what these fathers received at 1906 and I will compare them with the fathers of the day of Pentecost. I believe we should = have a clear picture after that.

LACKED PLAN BACK TO Pentecost – CLAIMS EXAMINED

  <= o:p>

So they sought the return of Pentecost on the bas= is of Joel 2: 23-26 and they knew that would come by the Latter Rain, outpouring = of the Spirit. Now one thing that is important here: they did not have enough knowledge of the plan of God o= r the program of God to have this retur= n of Pentecost. They went according to their own knowledge, their own understand= ing; they did their best. They were great men; they were wonderful men, even like Martin Luther and John Wesley. Great men, they were sincere men.

Now Luther was a Trinitarian, believing in three gods and he was even involved in the catechism from the Catholic church, showing you how dark the hour was. Wesley took some of the Catholic doctrine and he brought it over too. These men coming out of the Catholic, Lutheran and Methodist church were Trinitarians. The revelation of “one God” had not yet come to them. (Think of how dark that hour was.) They were Trinitarians, believing that God was three gods! A Father, a Son and the Holy Ghost. You pray to the Father a little bit, then you pray = to the Son a little bit, then you pray to the Holy Ghost a little bit, and if = you feel that the Father is jealous then you come back to the Father and start worshiping Him. It becomes confusing to the mind.

Now we believe in Father, Son, and Holy Ghost bu= t we do not believe that they are three gods. We believe in one God (Saint John 4:24) and we believe that = God was manifested in three different offices or attributes.

John = 4:24 <God is a Spirit: = and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.>

In= the Old Testament, He was Father of Israel. He took a bodily form and came down on = the earth and He was the Son. Through His death, burial and resurrection, He ca= me back on the day of Pentecost as the Holy Ghost—one God.

So these were great men, and (I want to stress h= ere that in 1906,) they did receive a genui= ne experience of the Holy Ghost. I will even venture to call it (like the prop= het called it) the baptism of the = Holy Ghost. So they did receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1906. They rece= ived an outpouring in 1906 and they received the gifts of the Spirit.

BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST IN THE LAST DAYS

Quote W.M.B.: 116 Th= at's what the church did. It entered into justification under Luther. Then it we= nt into sanctification under Wesley, went into the baptism of the Holy Ghost in this last days, and now resting with the Earnest of our inheritance that we know that something happened in us; (Revelation Chapter Five 2  61-0618).=

Quot= e: 127-2= This last age started with the fires of a Pentecostal revival and they organized= it right back. Instead of taking the Word they took their own ideas and did ju= st what every age has done--substituted the manual for the Word…They are second generation Pentecostals and since God doesn't have grandchildren they are just children of their fathers, known by their creeds and form of worsh= ip. They can talk about what used to be, but they can't produce it. Once they h= ad the lightning but about all that is left is the thunder. But let them talk = to you about the glories of their movement. They will say, "Yes sir, I wa= nt you to know that this is a move that no man started. It came spontaneously.= The Spirit fell all over the world. Yes sir, we got what they had at Pentecost. This was not of men but of God." THEN WHY DIDN'T THEY KEEP IT THAT WAY= ? IF GOD STARTED IT HOW COME GOD COULDN'T KEEP IT AND FINISH IT? If God didn't w= rite a handbook of creeds and formulas and dogmas to start it, then what right d= id they have to do that? (Smyrnaean Church Age - Church Age Book Cpt.)= .

They claimed that it was a return and a repeat of Pentecost. Now we are to examine these claims. That is why we are gathered here today and will be gathered f= or a few days. We want to examine by the Scripture the claims of 1906 and these great men.  =

Quote W.M.B.: 96-1 = Where, oh where, are we spiritually? We are in a wilderness of darkness. How far we have wandered from the first church. Pentecost is nowhere in view and the W= ord cannot be found. (Ephesian Church Age  -  Church Age Book Cpt.3).

They ma= jored on the gifts of the Spirit. Th= ey read in the Bible where men did signs and wonders and miracles.  They read the Book of Acts and they looked back in chapter 2. They were smart enough to realize that this had a= n origin. All that was written in the Book of Acts had an origin and that is, it star= ted on the day of Pentecost. Then the miracles, signs and wonders went on throughout the Book of Acts and they knew that they had to start at the beginning so they were gathered together to ask God for another return of Pentecost but they had in their minds above all, “gifts of the Spirit.” They majored on gifts of the Spirit. They wanted to do the things like they read about in the Book of Acts. (And we want to do them to= , but you have to start the right way.)

God has a plan; He has a program; He has keys to= this thing. They were ignorant of God’s plan and program of how to get back to Pentecost. So they did t= heir very best and we appreciate that. We are not condemning those great fathers= of Pentecost of 1906. We are not saying that it was of the devil. We are not saying that they were hypocrites or not sincere in what they were doing and that their desires were not right.  <= /span>

I want everybody to understand that I am not say= ing that what happened at 1906 was not of God. I believe that what happened in 1906 = was of God.  I believe it was the genuine Holy Ghost. I believe = the men that sought God were sincere men. They were great men who loved the Lord.  I believe that it was a= genuine revival.  I believe that there= were genuine signs and genuine wonders.  But friends, our examination is based upon this one thing: “Was that the return of Pentecost, or not?” That is the big question here. With all the sincerity, all the great men, all the signs, all the wonders a= nd everything that happened in 1906, our examination involves, “Was that truly a return of Pentecost? Was that the Seal of God? Was that the Fullnes= s of the Spirit? Was that the = Kingdom of God? Was that the Capstone coming to the Church?” This is our argument from here until.

I can s= cripturally prove that to the World (and I say this humbly) that when these message= s go out, I challenge the world upon the things that I am saying here this morni= ng and have spoken in the past and will be speaking in the future. I ask one m= an to come and prove to me in the Scripture that 1906 was a return of Pentecos= t. It is a total impossibility. If you cannot prove that was a return of Pente= cost then you need another outpouring of the Holy Spirit like it was on the day = of Pentecost or you are not going in the rapture. Now this becomes very hard on the ear because people feel the Spirit. They = work signs and they work wonders and they have a personal experience with the Lo= rd. We are not denying that. I am talking about the article of Pentecost. I am talking about the Fullness of God. I am talking about what we are expecting today and what is needed for you and me to be translated here as children of God to go in the rapture. Without this outpouring of the Holy Spirit there would be no rapture. Nobody go= es in the rapture without this outpouring of the Spirit. Now that is very important.  =

Then I would put the prophet’s teaching up= on this. Did he, the prophet of God, recognize that outpouring in 1906 as a re= turn of Pentecost? I am here to tell you that he never did recognize that as the return of Pentecost. You will find that in the Church Ages, pages 377 to 38= 0, just the way that I would place that this morning.

Quote W.M.B.: 377-2 This age started just after the turn of the twentieth century. As it was to be the age in which the true church would return to being the bride she was at Pentecost, we know that there must of necessity be a return of dynamic power. The believers sensed this in their spirits and began crying to God for a new outpouring such as was in the fir= st century. What seemed to be the answer came as many began to speak in tongues and manifest gifts of the Spirit. It was then believed that this was indeed= the long awaited RESTORATION. It was not, for the latter rain can come only aft= er the former rain which is the spring or TEACHING rain. The latter rain, then= , is the HARVEST rain. How could this be the real thing when the Teaching Rain h= ad not come? The Prophet-Messenger who was to be sent to TEACH the people and = turn the hearts of the children back to the Pentecostal fathers had not yet come= . (Resume of the Ages – Church Age Chapter 1= 0).

You cannot judge something until you know exactl= y what happened and then take what happened and bring it back through the Scriptur= es and examine the thing by the Scripture. Now anybody could get up and say, “G.C.C. is false. Mr. Bruce is a false prophet. The people that are gathered here are a cult.” But brethren, where is the proof of it? Whatever you say, you must be able to take and put it back in the Scripture= s. If I claim that you are the people of God, I must be able to take it and pu= t it back in the Scripture. I testify this morning and I have testified for the = past years, that you are the people of God because I can find your life registered in the Word of Go= d with proper dressing, no adultery and no fornication. Just what the Bible recomm= ends for you and me, we try with our whole hearts to practice. Now it is strange= to your town here; it is strange to this whole country; it is strange to the w= orld but it is Bible standard. Whatever we say, we must be able to put back in t= he Bible.

History - fathers of modern Pentecostalism

I will give you a brief history. I do not believe= in preaching in history but even if I preach the history, I like to bring you = on the scene. Now before 1906, there were people that desired this great Restoration and return of Pentecost. God bless their hearts.

Now for this 1906 revival (I am calling it ̶= 0;an outpouring of the Spirit,” genuine Spirit of the Lord) there were a f= ew men that are now considered to be the fathers of Pentecostalism. The first one’s name here is Parham—a white = man. And then there was a second man, Seymour, an Afro-American. And then there = was another man called Frank Bartleman, all Trinitarians. This would mean somet= hing as we go along—all Trinitarians.&nbs= p;

C. P= arham is considered to be the father of Pentecost. Th= ey elevated him to such a place as the original founder and the father of Pentecost. Now, he was a former Methodist minister in Kansas, USA. He was a theologian who opened a Bible school and sought a deeper walk with God. He formed a certain movement called “The Holiness Movement.̶= 1; That is very complimentary of this man. He was Methodist (and Wesley brough= t a holiness message) but he felt that the church was not walking in enough holiness, so he formed another movement and called it The Holiness Movement.  <= /p>

Now, in 1900, he opened <= st1:PlaceName w:st=3D"on">Bethel Bible College and sought = to understand, “What is the Baptism of the Holy Ghost?” He asked t= he students to find in the Bible the evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost—the students! They concluded that “tongues” are the evidence, and the initial evid= ence of the Holy Ghost Baptism. Now that is where your initial evidence of the H= oly Ghost being tongues was established: before 1906, about 1900 and it was established by the students of= a Bible school of the father of Pentecostalism called Parham, C. Parham. Now = we find some rules. They concluded that as long as a person speaks in tongues, they have what they had on the day of Pentecost.

Hunger set in and the people were hungry to retu= rn to Pentecost. They had great interest in the gifts of the Holy Ghost. They had great interest in healing of the body. They had great expectation of the Se= cond Coming of the Lord.  This is recorded history. Not one word is going to be added.

In 1901, a student of Bethel Bible College received th= e Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues. That was the initial evidence of the Holy Ghost, they claimed, that proved that she had the Holy Ghost. It was a woman. Then, after that, Parham and others received the Holy Ghost.

In 1903, the first revival broke in Kansas, USA. After that revival in 1903, in Kansas, Parham opened a third Bible school. That was a Pentecostal Bible school.

Will= iam J. Seymour: Now, another father of Pentecost comes on the scene. His name is William J. Seymour, an Afro-Ameri= can. He got a hunger for God and he attended the Bible school of Parham. Since Parham was a racist, he put Seymour on the outside to learn what he was teaching! Seymour, being a colored man, humbly sat outside. (Racism was very high in that time throughout the whole of America.) And all the lessons that Seymo= ur got, he was sitting outside of the building! He was originally a Baptist, w= ho later joined the holiness movement. He accepted five major doctrines of Par= ham, which were taught in the Bible school. Therefore, Parham planted his seed in Brother Seymour and that seed that was planted was based upon five major doctrines. These are the five doctrines: in order to be saved and be prepar= ed for the rapture, you must be justified, sanctified (that means holy living), and get the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, (which is correct)! The fourth: the initial evidence of the Holy Ghost is to speak in tongues. That seed was planted in Seymour. Number five: the Second Coming= of Christ is before the millennium (which is correct).

Up to that time, Seymour did not get the Holy Ghost at Parham’s Bible school although he belie= ved all that Parham said. Seymour was invited = to preach in Los Angeles by a woman preacher. By that time there were several women preachers with churches of their own and he was invited to preach in Los Angeles by one of them. He went on = turned to the same Scripture that I read and preached on Acts 2:4 and laid out his message and confirmed to them that the latter rain is being outpoured now a= nd Pentecost is returning. He drew that conclusion from what he understood from Parham and what they experienced there. Yet he himself had nothing like an anointing or the Outpouring of the Spirit.=   He would later get that.

When he preached that, the woman preacher got an= noyed because she was an unbeliever in this thing, and he was locked out from the church and he was locked out from the home. He was out on the streets. Then there was a wonderful brother called, Edward Lee who took him into his home. Then he left that home and later he went to another family, called the Asbu= ry family. So now he abode with the Asbury family. God bless Brother Lee and G= od bless the Asbury’s. Now we come down to 1906. In 1906, Seymour conducted prayer meetings at the Asbury’s home, Los Angeles. It was continued prayer meetings. They were like us, seeking God, praying, fasting, believing in a return of Pentecost, looking for revival, realizing that the churches have = many claims, they have a profession but not a possession. Something happened on = April 9, 1906. Edward Lee, the man that took in = Seymour and rescue= d him, received the Holy Ghost first.

1906: = 312 Azusa street revival AND DIVISI= ONS

You see our attitude and our respect to God’s servants, how it actually worked out for this man? Edward Lee received the Holy Ghost first of all other men because= he showed respect to that little servant of God, that black man that maybe he = was not even supposed to take in his home according to the laws but he placed h= im in his home. That happened on April 9, 1906 as the first brother. In the evening service, six others received it, which included a lady who was going to be the wife of Seymour a little later. That broke a revival in the Asbury’s home. Then on Ap= ril 12, Seymour received the Holy Ghost. After all those people got it, down to his future wife, he now received the Holy Ghost. It was a genuine article, I am saying. This was the blessings of the Lord. This was a genuine revival. This was a great blessing that God sent. Only one thing was involved and this was the = permissive will of God working there, which later I could explain.

When that revival brok= e and they started speaking in tongues there were so many people gathered that th= at house could not contain them. So Seymour and his group rented an African Methodist Episcopalian church. (We have them in Trin= idad up to now.) That building that they rented was at = 312 Azusa Street<= /st1:Street>, Los Angeles. That is where = that great Azusa Street story came from. That was the official mission of Seymour. They rented that old abandoned building for four dollars a month and they prepared it, cleaned it up and started meetings in that place. Now, from there the Pentecostal revival was identified in 312 Azusa St= reet, and Seymour was looked upon as a revivalist and the father of Pentecostalism.

So it was identified with 312 Azusa Street. It became the most popular address and then it ga= ined international fame. So 312= Azusa Street is called the “cradle of Pentecostalism.” It went on for a long time. Let me tell you somethin= g, Friend. People from all parts of United Sta= tes, Canada and later from around the world came to see that Outpouring of the Holy Spi= rit and revival that broke in 1906. What will it be when this great Outpouring of the Holy Spirit comes and the true return of Pentecost does come to the Church? It does not matter what kind of building that you have. It does not matter what’s your color. It does= not matter what your education is. It does not matter what your race is, friend. When God sets a hunger in the hearts of the people and He does this thing, = they will come from every quarter o= f the world.  We are looking for this thing and it certainly is going to come to pass. Do you believe these thing= s? [Congregation says, “Amen!”= ;] Well, you better believe it because I am quoting history up to now. This is history.

All right. William Seymour was the pastor of 312 Azusa Street. He never claimed to be a prophet or anything like that. He was the central figure of the 1906 revival. Now, Luther was the central figure of that revi= val in his time. Wesley was the central figure of that revival. You see, brethr= en, it comes from a certain source.

He was God’s chosen vessel for the 1906 worldwide revival that is called the Pentecostal revival. It attracted people from worldwide. Blacks and whites = were united on account of that revi= val and that Outpouring of the Spirit.  So these men actually believed that Pentecost had returned. They har= dly had any money; they beat a little tambourine, played a little guitar.

Today we have organs; we have pianos; we have trumpets. Oh, we have a nice covering here and we have nice seats, but those were genuine Pentecostal people. Another thing that I may mention here, they dressed just like you sisters and even up to 1950 we have pictures and we h= ave films of the dressing of Pentecostal women and they dressed just like you. I was in that history up to that time in the 1960s, right in the Caribbean, in the Pentecostal church. They dressed with the same dresses lik= e you have and anybody who committed adultery, fornication or misbehaved, they th= rew them out of the church.

Now here in the congregation is a former Penteco= stal lady. This lady here, Sister Boxhill, from a child, was identified with Pentecost and she knows that what I am saying is the truth. I am a witness = of that and there are others here who had belonged to that movement back there= and they could bear witness of the same. They lived a moral and holy life. That= was the way they were taught to dress. If that was right at that time, it is ri= ght today. Yes sir. What has changed it?  Modernism! Hollywood has changed th= ese things but the Church does not change with Hollywood and change with modernism. No= , my brother and sisters, the = Church of God goes on with= the Word of God. We are established upon the Word of God.

Now this may shock you a little bit here. Seymou= r, having respect for Parham, who was located in Texas, sent a message down to Parham and told him to “Come and run a few days meetings as you may h= ave more understanding, more knowledge. You are my teacher; I learned under you= r ministry. We have a great revival that broke over here at Azusa Street. Come and preach for us.” So Parham went down there. But when he went down there, he abused the people. He denounced the revival as a "darky camp meeting” and <= span style=3D'font-size:10.0pt'>said, “"God is sick at His stomach!" and "what good can come from a self-appointed Negro prophet?"<= span style=3D'font-size:10.0pt'> And he fumed against the very African-American = style of loose enthusiasm which was the norm for even Azusa's whites (Their method of worship= ).

The people were speaking in tongues and manifest= ing the gifts of the Spirit and worshipping God in the way that is called heresy and he cracked down on that and rebuked their style of worship then he dema= nded to have the full authority ove= r the congregation.

From all recorded history, Seymour was a humble servant of God. He= was not found in adultery or fornication. Did not seek popularity nor money. He believed in Holiness. He was so humble that he did not criticize men that w= ere in the wrong or those who preached contrary to Bible doctrine. He was not militant in this respect like the apostles or Jesus in their ministration. = This caused false doctrine and evil spirits to flourish. It eventually organized= the Azusa street= mission under the title “Apostolic faith mission”. <= /span>

The people at Azusa Street would make no adjustme= nt for that kind of spirit, and do you know what happened? = Seymour locked him out. Seymour bolted the door. The next day w= hen he came back to preach, Seymour had locked the door! “Out!” (I guess he learned that from when = he was locked out by this woman preacher.) After he locked him out, this man, desiring to be number one in the Pentecostal movement and revival, went a little way off and opened a church= . God never blessed it. It failed before it got started and he had to shut do= wn and walk in shame.

Bear in mind, brethren, I am talking about the f= athers of Pentecost, 1906.  Here is o= ne locking out the next one!  Is = it real one accord? Is that real = oneness?  My, I tell you! I can’t get = it! I don’t get the idea.

So = Seymour locked out Parham, the father = of Pentecost, and they were separated, never to be rejoined. Soon after that revival, in 1907 Parham was charged for committing sodomy with young males.= He was an angry racist and he became a full-fledged racist and was a Klan supporter. Now this man claimed to have received what they had on the day of Pentecost. I cannot read that in the book of Acts, where Peter, James and J= ohn or any one of them were Sodomites. So definitely Parham did not get what Pe= ter, James and John had. I don’t doubt that he got something. It is evident that his nature was not changed.

Frank Bartleman: There was another fi= gure that was playing out a very important part there and his name was Frank Bartleman. When he came and saw that revival, first of all he denounced it = but then he started to propagate that revival throughout the world as a journalist. So the news of the re= vival at 312 Azusa Street went around the world and brought people in because he = was a popular reporter and one that the people had confidence in since 1904. So= he played a great part but a little later on in his writing of history he trie= d to inject himself into the 1906 revival as one of the main figures who brought that revival, it’s pride!

A book was written entitled “what happened= on Azusa street” based upon records of Bartleman’s diary. He highly complimented Seymour as the ma= in figure of the Azusa street= revival. However, he injected himself in a subtle manner into the 1906 revi= val as the main figure who prepared the way for it. He credited himself by indicating that by his preparation, the = 1906 revival broke and also after the revival fires slowed down he continued that revival. Much pride was manifested in his records. He claimed to have recei= ved the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues only several years after 1906. He supported Durham and commended him as a gr= eat revivalist, though he broke Se= ymour’s group.

The gifts were restored to the Church. The Holy = Ghost indeed was poured out. Healings, signs and wonders took place. People spoke= in tongues. They accepted it as the initial evidence of the Holy Spirit. It wa= s a genuine move of God. But then, our question is, “Will it compare with original Pentecost?”  Now this is Pentecostalism versus Pentecost. Can we fit that in the Bible? Right here, this congregation of people being taught…. You understand the Bible; you sat under correct teaching for the past forty years. Correct teaching was going on here before some of you young fellows were born. It never changed and it will never cha= nge. We have been looking for this Promise of God for decades upon decades. Young men became old men. Little boys became grandfathers, but though the vision linger, it shall surely come to pass. We buried several pastors and God rai= sed up new ones. But, though the vision linger, it shall surely come to pass. G= od has His appointed time in which He will send that Promise and we are closer= to that Promise today than when we first begun. Yes, let us appreciate what we have. We have one hundred percent Truth. One hundred percent Word.

Now this was being noised abroad in Canada and United States. It brought peo= ple from all parts of the world to see that revival and that Outpouring of the = Holy Spirit. Now that gives you a little picture of what is coming. It united bl= acks and whites. It united people of all societies. It brought them together but there is an outstanding thing that took place in this revival. There were m= any joiners from many nations and walks of life and something happened. There w= ere great religionists that came and joined themselves to this revival and there were great philosophers that c= ame in and magicians, like Simon the Sorcerer. They always want to join. Read your Bible. You will see how Simon= the Sorcerer, impressed by the Power of God, wanted to join. These magicians ca= me and then there were lots of self appointed preachers that arose, lots of fa= lse prophets, many soothsayers and prophesiers and speakers in tongues and that brought in much confusion into= the movement of God and divisions followed.  <= /p>

Organizations followed this great movement and t= he big thing with this is that the father of Pentecost could not handle these thin= gs that came into the movement. He could not handle the sorcerer. (I hope your minds are going back to the book of Acts.) He could not handle the religionists. He could not handle the philosophers.  He could not handle the soothsayer= s and they became a great opposition to Seymour. They did a lot of wickedness and he did not know how to control them there, like Peter handled the Sorcerer. So now, it amounts to the fact that evil spirits from around the worl= d, Satan’s army, Satan’s kingdom, Satan’s evil force actually came and flooded the revival and neither Seymour nor the other men that aro= se had any power or discernment of spirits to handle these men. So they prevai= led. Now this was going to later form the foundation of Pentecostalism.

Clar= a Lum, the mission’s secretary responsible for publication, was offended by S= eymour’s marriage. Her group believed that marriage was a disgrace, since Jesus was supposed to return soon. Seymo= ur was denounced for his marriage. 50,000 names and addresses were stolen by h= er, which ended the mission’s publication. She refused to return the names and addresses, even by Seymour= ’s pleadings. Some suspected that she desired to marry = Seymour.

Foundation of 1906 Pentecostal= ism

Now, the foundation of this great movement, the e= xample was set by the founding father called Parham, was pride, racism, sexual immorality, divisions Bible schools and organization. Now if the father set that example, what do you expect after one hundred years of Pentecostalism?  It is not har= d to say and we do not need any discernment for that because it is fully manifes= ted in one hundred years of time and history. It is right around the world today and it has made Christianity a lau= ghing-stock. Now this is the truth that I am speaking. I speak the good part of it and t= hen the other parts have to be right because it is manifested. So the foundatio= n of this whole system eventually is corrupt from the beginning. Remember I am n= ot speaking of the original people that loved the Lord and were in that reviva= l. No. I am talking about men that arose shortly including one of the founding fathers, who was charged for sodomy with little boys in the very assemblies. Can you imagine that? I can’t come to terms with that. The man was a racist and supported a racist group. By 1907 this man was charged for sodomy.  He was so full of pri= de that he brought divisions. He made three Bible schools. <= /p>

All the wrong example set by Parham was compound= ed with occultism, witchcraft, which formed the foundation of Pentecostalism, which they called a return of Pentecost, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Seal of God. They were expecting the rapture to take place at any day and a= ny time. Now, Pentecostalism spread around the world and I am going to skip th= at and probably pick it up later to show you how Pentecostalism spread for one hundred years, and bring it right down to our time to the most popular TV evangelist called Benny Hinn.

Now, the influence of Azusa Street died three years after= in 1909. The prophet of God said that most revivals die within that period of = time of three years.

Quote W.M.B.: 78 And history only shows a revival only lasts not over three years= at the most. (Calling Jesus On The Scene 63-0804e).

Other churches were formed in Los Angeles, USA, Canada, Europe and various parts of the world. The great mark of this Outpouring of 1906 w= as divisions. It was marked with div= isions above every other thing.

Now that you have a better understanding of the history of that Outpouring of 1906, I want to examine that movement with the Bible. Original Pentecost, Acts 2, and the entire book of Acts are what I am going to use for that examination. I will also use the epistles of the apos= tles to examine this movement.

It is either right or wrong; it is either that I= am speaking the truth to you or I am speaking a lie to you this morning. But I= am sure that I am speaking the truth because it comes from the Bible.

I repeat that the 1906 outpouring of the Holy Spirit was genuine—under the permissive Will of God—but it was not a return of Pentecost as in Acts 2. It was a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit but it was not a return of Pentecost.

There is only one way to examine the 1906 reviva= l, outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and that is to compare it with the or= iginal. Now if you bring a bogus dollar to me I will take it and compare it to the original dollar. If it does not match with the original dollar then it is a counterfeit American dollar.

Here, they are giving us a duplicate of Pentecos= t or a repeat of Pentecost. The only way that we will know if that is right or wro= ng, is to take the duplicate and compare it with the original and then we will = have it right.  <= /p>

Now this is very important, friend, because many= have laid their soul’s salvation upon the outpouring of 1906 to go in the rapture. They depend upon that experience. And ninety-nine percent of the people that follow the message c= laim that they received what Peter, James and John received. They received it fr= om their churches that they came from in so-called Pentecost.

Is this important then? I say it is very importa= nt because here we have genuine Christians, wonderful brothers and sisters, th= at follow the message and have accepted the present truth of this day, that ar= e relying upon this outpouring in = 1906 to translate them and carry them away in the rapture. I say that they will remain earthbound.

Now do you see my efforts of preaching this then? My effort of preaching this message is to totally convince every human being that relies upon that genuine experience of 1906= to take them in the rapture; to prove to them that it cannot take you in the rapture. But it will take you through th= e tribulation. And the parable of t= he foolish and the wise virgins is right here. There were two groups of people= and there were wise virgins and foolish virgins, five of them each, and one gro= up went in the rapture and the other was left behind.

There shall be weeping and wailing and gnashing = of teeth. Because the foolish thought that she had what it takes to go in the rapture, but the wise virgins did not think so but she knew that what she had could take her in the rapture. Now right there in your Bible is something standing here for the end time and that divides people into two groups although they are genuine wonderful people all virgins. <= /span>

But something makes the foolish virgins foolish. That was, they relied upon the experience of 1= 906. And there was something that made the wise virgins wise and that is she went after the genuine article just like they had on the day of Pentecost. =

Isn't it clear in the Scripture? Now, there are = many other Scriptures that can come to light right here which I don’t have time = to deal with. There is the man without the wedding garment. (Matthew 22:2-13) = Also where Jesus said, two shall be grinding at the mill; one shall be taken the other left behind. (Matthew 24:42-44)

There are other parabl= es that our Lord spoke about. There were certain people invited to a feast, an= d a man came in without having on the wedding garment. (Matthew 22:2-13) Now all these things can be hooked up right in here. Messages, messages after messa= ges can be preached and were preached before, to show you that you must have th= is genuine Article in order to go in the rapture.

Examination: 1906 Pentecost wi= th original Pentecostal plan and program

I am examining the 1906 Outpouring with the origin= al Outpouring on the Day of Pentecost. First of all, there was a plan and program to bring this Outpouring on the Day of Pentecost and I = will read it directly from the Bible to you.

Isaia= h 28: 8-13 <For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is = no place clean.

Whom = shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that a= re weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.>=

(In other words, people that will humble themselv= es.)

<F= or precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line up= on line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and anoth= er tongue will he speak to this people.

To wh= om he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. But the word of the LORD was unto = them precept upon precept, precept = upon precept; line upon line, line = upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backw= ard, and be broken, and snared, and taken.>

This is the plan and program of God that was app= lied before the day of

Pentecost, before they had an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which is the Rest. “Wherewith  ye may cause the weary to rest.”

What was God’s plan and program? First of all, the Word came to the

people before they had an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. That was God’s plan= and program. The Word first had to come and give them understanding, give them wisdom, give them light; show them how to prepare for this outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

And how did the Lord do that? He did that by bri= nging the Word of God to the people, preparing their hearts, causing them to be justified, causing them to be sanctified and changing their natures. After = that process, which lasted for several years, then they were commissioned to go = to a certain place and tarry for that outpouring of the Holy Spirit. =

Is that the plan of God? Was that the program of= God? [Congregation says, “Amen!”= ;] Was it first a Restoration of the Word of God? And who did that Word come to? <= o:p>

First of all, we see John the Baptist came on the scene, the Elijah spirit came on the scene. After that, the Word Himself, o= ur Lord Jesus Christ, came on the scene. And after that Elijah spirit appeared upon the earth, he said that he was a way maker. He was preparing the way for the Lord, and he was teaching the people holiness, righteousness, how to live and, a little while afterward, the full Word of God came into existence—our Lord Jesus Christ.

They were instructed how to prepare for that outpouring of the Spirit. After such instructions and the people’s he= arts were prepared, they went up into the upper room. They waited there in prayer and in fasting and then there came the original outpouring of the Holy Spir= it, which is the Kingdom of God, which is th= e Seal of God, which is the Fullness of God. Then came that Outpouring on the day = of Pentecost after they received the Word of God, “precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little, there a little,” only then did they get that outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Now, do you see why you have to suffer long and = hard in many services? Beloved, because we try to get the Word of God to you, “precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little, there a little.” Do you see the need of E.O.D.H. now? It is going out there, “line upon line, here a little and there a little” and that is either going to bless a man or curse him. That’s what Isaiah said. He said those that did not want that and did not believe that coming Promise w= ould go and fall backward. But He said, they that humble themselves, as if they = are drawn from the breasts, that blessing is going to come to them.  Jesus said, “Except a man hu= mble himself and become as a little child, he shall in no wise enter into this outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the Kingdom of God.”=

Matth= ew 18:3-4 <And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and bec= ome as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Whoso= ever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.>

Now that is exactly what the Bible said; that is exactly the plan of God, recorded right here in Isaiah 28, that brought the Outpouring on the day of  Pent= ecost! First of all it was the Word. Nobody could bypass the Word of God, the full Word of God, “precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little and there a little,” and get that Outpouring of the Spirit.

Ephes= ians 1:13 <In whom ye also t= rusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.>

You cannot get this Outpouring of the Holy Ghost= by changing the message, by putting on the back burner the holiness standards,= by putting on the back burner the commandments of our Lord, He said, “He that loves Me keeps my commandments.”

John = 14:15 <If ye love me, k= eep my commandments.>

You will have to adjust your life to the Bible; = you have to adjust your life to the message that was sent to us.

That message was sent to prepare you and me for = that Outpouring of the Spirit and it is coming unto us, “line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little.” <= /span>

You don’t know how it comes together but i= t is a little piece from Genesis, a little piece from Exodus, a little piece from = the book of Revelation, a little piece from the book of Matthew and a little bit coming from the message, and here we are, forming a great picture and a revelation of the Son of Man. That is where it is.

How many believe Isaiah? [Congregation says, “Amen!”] He said, you must get = that before you get the Rest. There isn’t any question about what is the R= est; that Rest is another outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said:<= /span>

Matth= ew 11:28 <Come unto me, al= l ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.>=

“This is the rest that will cause the wear= y to rest,”—not rest your body but rest your soul from sin. And Isai= ah prophesied about that.

Quote W.M.B.: E-13 And Isaiah in the 28th chapter, He said: "For precept must be upon precept; and line upon line; here a little, = and there a little: …for with stammering lips and other tongues will I sp= eak to this people. And this is the rest." Oh, that perfect rest, to come = from the congregation to the altar, from the altar to the bosom of Christ, the b= ed, the night, the secret place, the resting place. Justification, Martin Luther taught it. Sanctification, John Wesley taught it. Now, the baptism of the H= oly Ghost, the Pentecost taught it. By the Holy Spirit enter into a everlasting, eternal rest. (Church Dedication 59-0708m).

Another thing that brought that great outpouring= on the day of Pentecost, Ezekiel prophesied about it.

Ezeki= el 9:4 <And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through t= he midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh = and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst

thereof.>=

Friends, your soul has to be vexed like righteous Lot: ve= xed with the sins of Sodom, vexed with the nakedness, vexed with the music, vexed with the filthiness, vexed with the adultery, the fornication, the lying, the hypocrisies and the imitation of men. And your soul has got to be so sick that you cry to get o= ut of here.

Now, if you are too comfortable in this world and you could adjust when you go down to the publ= ic places and you could see the things that are going on in the churches and around the message and you could be comfortable with that, friends, your so= ul is not yet prepared. There has got to be a hunger setting in and agonizing setting into the soul of the Elect of God right now, because of this outpou= ring of the Holy Spirit. Your soul has to be so desperate after the Word of God = that you want to be prepared, you want to pray, you want to fast, you know that certain things are in your life and you want to get them out of your life. =

Friend, you have to get desperate after it. It isn’t going to just leave you by y= our saying, “I have got to make a change in life.” No, friend. You = have got to get down and work at it. You have got to work out you salvation with fear and trembling.

If you have a spirit of offense in you, you are = angry with everybody, you have evil thoughts going through your mind, you cannot = just sit there and let the devil put that down into your soul. No, you have to w= ork at it. You say, “I sure don’t like that preacher. Everybody tal= ks about him but I sure don’t like him. I don’t go near him.” Something is wrong with your spirit. Jesus said, “He that loveth me, keeps my commandments.” Yes. If you love the Word you will love God’s servant.

He is trying to take your soul into the rapture.= How can you not love a man that tries to serve the Lord and prepare you for the Token? “I sure don’t like that Pastor McGahee, he is always har= ping on me.” Something is wrong with your spirit. Something definitely is wrong with your spirit. The only reason that Pastor Kenny will harp at you = is because something is wrong with your soul. He is trying to fix your soul in= order for you to receive that outpouring of the Spirit. When you will have resent= ment and you will have contentions in your minds and when you will pull apart and have a stand-off, something is wrong with your spirit! You are tolerating t= he wrong thing, you want to hang with the wrong people. You want to do the wrong things. And then “Pastor Kenny shouldn’t say anything.”

Not so at all! That man of God is going to preac= h the Word of God to you regardless of what you think of him and what kind of resentment that you try to show him when he walks around. I don’t kno= w of any case like that but I’m just talking about a Christian spirit. A Christian spirit would love the Word of God= . We ought to be Christians. We must make this rapture at all costs. We must hav= e this outpouring at all costs.  Yes.=

So the first thing that came by was the Word of God.

How they got up to Pentecost is that Isaiah prop= hesied that the Word must come first, otherwise you are not going to have that Outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  It has to come so clear: “li= ne upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little.” So the Word came to Elijah the prophet and then the Word, Himself, stood there upon the earth in the form of the Son of Man.

1906 Pentecostal fathers di= ffered FROM ORIGINAL Pentecostal fathers

Now, the 1906 outpouring, brethren, varied from this plan of God that brought this outpouring on the day of Pentecost. The fathers of Pentecostal= ism, 1906, differed from the fathers of original Pentecost. (From the history, y= ou can already see it. I don’t even have to repeat it.) Brethren, these = men were Trinitarians while the original Pentecostal fathers believed in One Go= d (St. John 4:24). The original Pentec= ostal fathers had a revelation of the Son of Man.

These at 1906 did not have the Word of God in pl= ace. They did not have the Truth as the early Pentecostal people had. They depen= ded upon theology they depended upon Bible schools. They were Trinitarians. They believed in three gods. They brought over doctrines of Trinitarian, water baptism in that revival, using the titles of Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Un= less you are baptized according to Act 2:38, in the Name of Jesus Christ, you are not yet baptized in Christian baptism.= If you believe in three gods, you are not believing the way the Bible wants yo= u to believe. You have to believe that God is one God. God is a Spirit, (St. John 4:24), and that Spirit came and indwelt a man ca= lled, Jesus Christ. Through His death, burial and resurrection, He went up into heaven and returned on the day of Pentecost as the Holy Spirit. That is it! That’s the One God we are talking about!

So, they were wrong in their understanding of Trinitarian gods and Trinitarian baptism. They had many other contrary doctrines. I am saying that the fathers of 1906 Pentecostalism were unprepa= red for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This is proven in the man called Par= ham, who was a Trinitarian, who was a racist, who was a proud man and who was charged for sodomy. Now, I am saying, beyond one shadow of a doubt, that th= is man’s nature was not changed= . In order for you to receive original Pentecost, before you get that article your nature must be changed by a born again experience by the incorruptible Seed, which is the Word of God that liveth and abideth forever, (I Peter 1:23). These fathers fail= ed to be prepared, therefore, they could not receive that Article of Pentecost un= der those conditions.  =

Let me say this right here: you and I cannot receive that outpouring of= the Holy Spirit nor go in the rapture if these things are in us. If we have the wrong doctrine, if you belong to an organization, if you would not live a h= oly life and you are living in adultery, you are living in fornication, you are living in sodomy, you are cussing off your brethren and you have offences d= own in you that you would not correct for days and for months, for weeks and for years, then those things will prevent you from entering this outpouring of = the Holy Spirit. Isn’t that clear? Then if that is so here today with you= and I that have followed the Word of God, precept upon precept and line upon li= ne, wasn’t it true back down there? It was true back down there that these men could not have a return of Pentecost nor the genuine Baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1906 on account of their lifestyle and on account of their doctrin= e. They could not. It’s a total impossibility!

Let me rephrase that. Friends, it is a total impossibility for the fathe= rs of Pentecost and all who follow them to have received an outpouring of the Holy Spirit like the day of Pentecost because of their approach and because of t= heir lifestyle. But, I will admit that they did receive an outpouring of the Holy Spirit but did not, under any condition, receive the article of Pentecost! Their natures were not changed.

It is a total impossibility for the people of 19= 06, (including the fathers) to have received the article of Pentecost. It is a total impossibility for Pentecost to have returned even because they did not have the Word of God. Therefore they were unprepared and their natures were= not changed. I know that they claim to be born again, but even that claim to be born again cannot qualify you for the rapture. What they claim as the born again experience is accepting the Lord Jesus Christ but that is not = what Peter, James and John had according to

I Pet= er 1:23 <Bei= ng born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, w= hich liveth and abideth for ever.>

First of all, before you are born again, you nee= d to have the Incorruptible Seed. Isaiah said that the Word was to come to them before that Rest, and the Word did come first to the apostles. They adjusted their lives. Their souls were prepared and after their souls were prepared, then they went up to the Upper Room and they heard a sound from Heaven as a mighty, rushing wind. <= /b>

Now notice that this outpouring in 1906 had no s= ound from Heaven.  There is no reco= rded history about any sound from Heaven that took place and there is no recorded history of licks (tongues) of = fire sitting upon their shoulders. So 1906 ran away with the tongues! They took = that “Tongues” as the evidence of the Holy Spirit but in the original Pentecost, they had a sound from heaven as a mighty, rushing wind and they = had cloven tongues of fire sit upon them and that was the original Pentecostal blessing. It came with a sound from heaven; It came with licks of fire; they had a revelation of the Son of Man and they had the Word of God first, “precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little and there a litt= le,” and then a sound came from heaven. I am saying that 1906 is a far cry, and I am saying that it is a million miles a= way from the original article of on the day of Pentecost!

Quote W.M.B.: 128-2 They call themselves Pentecostal and Full Gospel. Let them prove it. At Pentecost the fire came in a cloud and separa= ted over each of them like a tongue, and fell on each one. Where is the fire? They spoke in tongues at Pentecost and the people who listened understood. Where is that? The whole multitude of belie= vers acted like one family. Pentecostals are as badly divided as any group in history. No man durst join himself to the early church but only God added. = They have as many goats among them as any. They claim to be full Gospel but they can't prove it. Their churches are as empty of power as any of them. If they are full Gospel then we had better admit the Bible made a mistake when it describes the full Gospel men at Pentecost. They sing, "There's been a great change in me." They are right. But the change has not been for t= he better. It is time to get back to God. They have a name that they live but = are dead. Tongues isn't the evidence of revival. It is the evidence of death. Tongues proclaimed the evidence that the ceremonial religion of the Jews was over, that a new era had begun. Tongues today is ringing down the curtain on the Gentile church ages and the Gospel is going back to the Jews. People are talking about tongues heralding in a great Spiritual move. They have missed= the boat. The truth is that it is writing the finish to all of man's ideas, programs and kingdoms, and the kingdom of God is being ush= ered in. Wake up people of God. Wake up. (Smyrnaean Church Age - Church Age Book Cpt.4= ).

They have traveled with that right down to one h= undred years of Pentecostalism.  So y= ou can see from this message what we are getting into.  I am going to pick up these articl= es of Pentecostalism to show you the foundation it was built upon and what it produced right up to today, and what it will continue to produce until the = rapture takes place.  It is going to be quite interesting.  So may the= Lord bless you.  =

I= am sure, my brothers and sisters, that you have benefited today and the other days, you will benefit even more.  So the Lord bless your hearts.

Comments by local Pastor Kenne= th MCGahee

I learned so much this morning.  I don’t think I have ever he= ard it preached that clear in all my life. Although we have sat under the Word of = Life for many years.  I truly enjoy= ed what I heard this morning. Brother Bruce made reference to the Church Ages Book, page 377-380. I have that little quote, which I read the other night while I was preaching. I want to read from the Church Ages Book to place th= is right in with Brother Bruce’s message this morning. How many loved th= at today with a hearty Amen? [Congrega= tion says “Amen!”]
